The President of the Republic, Professor Faustin Archange TOUADÉRA, in his capacity as the Father of the Nation, visited the Bangui University Hospital Center in the morning of this Monday, June 30, 2025 to visit the students injured in the tragedy that occurred on June 25 at the Lycée Barthélémy BOGANDA of Bangui.
The Head of State was accompanied during this visit by the Minister of State in charge of National Education Aurelien Simplice ZINGAS, the Minister of Health Dr Pierre SOMSE, the Minister of Communication and Government Spokesperson Maxime BALALOU, the Minister of Higher Education Dr Sissa MAGALE, the Minister Social Affairs Dr Marthe KIRIMA and Minister of Labour and Employment Annie Gisèle MOUANGA.





The President of the Republic said he was very touched by this tragedy that has struck a part of the Central African youth for whom the State has put so much effort into training them.
“I was deeply touched by our youth. This drama occurred at the time of assessment which is an important time for these students. “Sadly, there was this tragedy and at least twenty of them lost their lives and there are some who are still in hospital,” he lamented in an interview in terms of his visit to the victims’ beds that survived.
For the President of the Republic Faustin Archange TOUADÉRA, it is his duty to visit these injured students and give them his moral support.
He praised the actions taken by the Government, the medical staff and the Defence and Security Forces to come to the aid of the victims of this tragedy.
He said that strict instructions have been given to the Ministry of Health to take care of the injured and evacuate some victims whose cases require specific care.
The President of the Republic did not fail to mention the case of the candidates who lost their lives during this drama.
“Of course, there are cases of funerals and funerals that will follow. I think that for matters of dignity, the Government has considered that every bereaved family has the opportunity to organize funerals with the support of the Government,” he announced.
The Head of State confessed that he will meet with bereaved families in the coming days to exchange and sympathize with them.
Instructions have also been given to the Minister of State for National Education to make necessary arrangements so that candidates who are able to sit can resume further exams.
